Immaku.com – Exchange of knowledge, culture and language between Indonesia and Japan through collaboration with The Japan Foundation has been going on since 1974.

This time, one way to strengthen this relationship is through the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in July 2022 involving Nihongo Partners.

Anang Ristanto expressed his gratitude for the contribution of Nihongo Partners Batch 17 volunteers who have introduced Japanese language and culture to various High Schools (SMA) and Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Indonesia through creative learning methods that so far have only been enjoyed by students. through virtual platforms. .


“In addition, the Ministry of Education and Culture also gets good practices and fun learning experiences from students as well as teachers and education staff when interacting with Nihongo Partners volunteers,” said Anang.

He (Anang) hopes that the volunteers can promote Indonesian culture upon their arrival in their home country and that the program can be in line with the Merdeka Belajar policy in terms of adding benefits to Teacher Activation and School Activation.

In line with that, the Director General of the Japan Foundation, Takahashi Yuichi expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Education and Culture’s support for the Nihongo Partners program.

“The Japan Foundation appreciates the Ministry of Education and Culture for facilitating the assignment of our volunteers who were assigned to 20 selected high schools and vocational schools in the Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi areas,” explained Takahashi.

“Even though the activities of the 17th batch of volunteers will end in March 2023, we will create an ongoing program for volunteers to be able to share good practices and experiences gained in Indonesia with their colleagues in Japan,” continued Takahashi.

For information, in Indonesia the Nihongo Partners Program is a program for sending volunteers to high schools and vocational schools in Indonesia to teach Japanese language and culture.

During the 2022 period, The Japan Foundation has sent 55 volunteers divided into two batches, namely batch 17 and batch 18, which will serve from September 2022 to March 2023.

Furthermore, one of the Nihongo Partners volunteers batch 17, Yuri Takenaka, told his story while working at Dian Didaktika Islamic High School in Depok City and Labschool Cirendeu High School in South Tangerang City.
